Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas.

I hope all of you had an enjoyable Christmas. I spent my time leading up to today with those who meant the most to me; family, friends, and there are still a couple of reunions that I can't wait to attend, namely the Primary 6.4 reunion and the annual AA3 gathering. The former was a little hastily planned, but with the wonders of Facebook, it is possible to inform everyone in a matter of minutes. Now it's just a matter of who will turn up! Really hope to see all my friends from our younger days... we sure have loads to reminisce about!

On Thursday, I accompanied Sher, Si, Grace, Fong and Zac to the Esplanade where the ACJC choir, which consists of current members and alumni, sang beautiful, heavenly Christmas carols. I really felt the warmth enveloping every part of my soul as familiar Yuletide tunes were sung. I especially love The Christmas Song.

There was a party at Milene's yesterday too. Thanks girl for organizing! :)

Yummy potluck spread, funny games and good company.

Angels we have heard on high )

Oh, for those who have over-indulged on the treats...

She really makes the exercises look so easy and fluid... but argh, your tummy will burn after doing them! However, no pain, no gain! Heh heh.

As always, the most precious gift, every Christmas...

Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace
.

Thank you Lord.

waiting on a sunrise.

(re-edited as photos did not show up earlier!)

I just watched Prozac Nation on Youtube and it's such a heart-wrenching show. I can identify with the protagonist to some extent (mostly about her mother) but neither am I  a depressed, self-harming maniac.

All unhappiness aside, the past few days have been spent trying to advance my driving (3 lessons a week, and I can parallel park now!) and just basically chilling so much that I don't really keep track of the days anymore. School term is a far distance thought in the future...

So after the many days of incessant thunderstorms, I am grateful for the strong rays of sun we had yesterday. Plans for tanning need not be shelved as Sam, Milene and I happily made our way to Sentosa. The place is now so easily accessible, served by Harbor Front MRT station and a shuttle bus service into Sentosa. Of course, you can fork out a bit more to get into the island via the cable car too!

We decided to station ourselves at Siloso Beach, and because we were quite reluctant to put our towels on the sand to tan, we rented two tanning beds from Coastes for S$20, which is a bang for your buck. Usual price for one bed is $15. They even served us complimentary iced lemon tea, in exchange for our emails for their mailing list. Ahh, smart way to increase their customer base.

After slapping on tanning oil, donning our shades and plugging in to some music on our MP3s, we completely chilled. Feels so shiok to just vegetate like that.

The midday sun got too scorchingly hot, so we headed to the waters for a dip/swim. Nice.

After that, I headed to town to welcome Fong back! I can't believe that the next time I'll be seeing her again will only be next Sept. I feel so sad every time I think about how dispersed all my friends are! We did Christmas shopping in super crowded town. We visited M while he was working, and only so, because I needed to pick up a game for a gift exchange. She thinks he carries himself well. Hahaha, then again, that's not really new. ;) Met Slam for 2 days in a row; short moments but nonetheless, mmm... interesting. Also happened to bump into Dawn who was singing on a stage besides Lucky Plaza!

The day before I caught up with Sam, and we did what we always did best.... bargain hunt; although it was all in the mall's air-con comfort. With Christmas sales almost everywhere, it's hard not to get our eyes on some of the most gorgeous festive dresses! Pity I feel my bank account bleeding dry and not much of an occasion to purchase such luxurious dresses. Sam tried a simple LBD from Mango  and I felt that I could have rolled out a red carpet for her... simply stunning. Looks like what they would retail at Pois for at least 5 times the price. It's an investment!

We went to Lucky Plaza to try on really retarded looking specs... man, I miss crazy moments like these. I look absolutely mortifying!

Oh this was from before I left for Perth... I bought Cihan and Tallie to Haji and Arab Street. :) A must try is the Egyptian eatery at the end of Haji Lane. Pretty affordable for such yummy food and cozy ambiance. And, the Sultan Village (near the Muslim Heritage Centre) looks completely different from how I remembered it to be when I went on a Primary School Kampong Glam district tour in Primary 4! At least some of the old charm was retained after renovation.

Going to meet some of the AA3 girls at the Esplanade later as we're going to support Daph who will be singing some Christmas carols. Need to get going soon!

Have a blessed Christmas everyone!

the reason for the season.

Matthew 1:23
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
